madluna is a small personal site run by Merrick and Leilah in Canada. this page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you visit.

the short version

we do not run analytics, we do not set advertising cookies, we do not have accounts or logins, and we do not sell or share anything about you. we do not build a profile of you.

what we store on your device

one thing: if you use the light/dark toggle, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key theme. it never leaves your device and we never see it. clearing your browser data removes it.

we do not set any tracking or advertising cookies.

what our host sees

this site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. like any web host, Cloudflare automatically processes standard request data (your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time) to serve the page and to protect the site from attacks and abuse. this is handled by Cloudflare under their own privacy policy, which you can read at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

third parties your browser contacts

a few parts of the site load from, or ask questions of, services we do not run. when that happens your browser connects to them directly, so they can see your IP address and basic request information:

• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com): loads the two typefaces used across the site. see Google's privacy policy.
• mcsrvstat.us: on the Minecraft page only, to look up whether the server is online.
• our own Cloudflare Worker: on the home services pages, to check whether Plex and Overseerr are up. it returns a yes/no and does not log visitors.

we do not send any of these services your name, your email, or anything you have typed.

emailing us

the addresses on our contact page are ordinary mailto links. there is no form and nothing is submitted through this site. if you email us, we keep the message and your address in our mailbox so we can reply, and for as long as it is useful to keep the thread. we do not add you to any list.

the home services pages

our Plex, Overseerr and Minecraft servers are invite-only and used by friends. the Minecraft page displays the public server status supplied by mcsrvstat.us, which can include the usernames of players currently connected. if you play on the server and would rather your username not appear there, email us and we will hide the player list.

advertising

this site does not currently display advertising and no ad network code is loaded on any page. if that ever changes, we will update this page before any ads go live and set out exactly which advertising partners are involved, what they collect, and how to opt out, and we will ask for consent where consent is required.

children

this site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

your rights

we handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. realistically, unless you have emailed us, we hold nothing about you at all.

changes

if this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
